We are deeply saddened to hear of the loss of our friend and colleague Julien Bergoz, a fantastic individual who leaves an eternal gap in our hearts and in the beam instrumentation field.
For almost four decades, Julien has continuously contributed towards the growth and development of the beam diagnostics field. Not only with regards to his extensive technical contributions and through the formation of his company, today taken over and sustainable, but also through his support of the formation of the strong, global diagnostics community we see today. Over the years Julien supported many international workshops and conferences such as DIPAC and BIW, as well as IBIC. He also placed high value on the development of young scientists and encouraged excellence within the field, being one of the founders of the Faraday Cup Award.
Julien’s approach to Beam Instrumentation will remain in our minds and in our hearts. Deep competence, excellent explanation skills, positive approach to job and life.
Julien, we will always remember you!
