VISA process
We encourage you to apply for your US Visa at least 120 days prior to the workshop.
For International Visitors to FRIB, MSU you do not need visa invitation letters to apply for a visitor visa. Instead, you need to document the reason/purpose of your visit. The conference/workshop website contains this information, including event name and dates. The United States Department of State is the definitive source of requirements for your visit, including COVID-19 restrictions. Their website is https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/tourism-visit/visitor.html

Travel Health Insurance
As you arrange your travel to U.S.A. we advise you to review your health coverage. Your current health coverage may not cover you during your travels outside your own country. Care in the U.S. healthcare system is expensive, even simple procedures can be costly. In case of an unforeseen medical condition, injury, or accident that may occur while traveling, it is best for you understand your current coverage information, and if it is not sufficient, you may want to purchase a comprehensive travel insurance policy. While medical insurance for B visitors to the US is not mandatory, it is highly advisable. There are both B-1/B-2 visa health insurance plans available.
