Description

Faster response time and larger signal scale of machine protection system (MPS) should be required for Shanghai HIgh repetitioN rate XFEL and Extreme light facility (SHINE). There are two relatively independent interlock systems for SHINE, one is normal MPS based on PLC, and the other one is fast MPS based on FPGA. In order to satisfy the requirements of different segments commissioning and further reduce the probability of misoperation, the design of operation mode is introduced in MPS. The operation mode can achieve mode and logic switching through "one click". Different logic can be automatically matched in different modes. The mode switch and management is controlled by the main station comprehensively, and it can be transferred to various sub stations and fast interlock modules. The operation mode has been designed in two parts: segmented mode and repetition mode. According to the operation mode, the beam position control, equipment protection and repetition rate control and protection, and a series of functions can be achieved. All the design details are implemented and verified, and the system have been put into online operation for SHINE injector.
