Description
"As the first institution in China to fully adopt solid-state power sources, the Institute of Modern Physics has developed a new ""standardization"" design concept which has greatly improved the universality and reliability of power source systems. Products from different manufacturers are interchangeable, supporting hot swapping for superconducting systems. The RF structure is simple and flexibly combinable, with universal interfaces and protocols.
Meanwhile, breakthroughs have been achieved in third-generation semiconductor power devices based on new materials. The new GaN-on-SiC power chip exhibits significantly improved performance in the P-band, and this achievement has also been applied in pulsed operation. Currently, the power density of narrow-pulse equipment has exceeded the single-cabinet MW level, showing great application potential.
In CW mode, combined with standardized design, the economy, reliability and maintainability of the power source system have been significantly improved.
At present, the same design has already been considered for two large-scale scientific facilities in Guangdong Province of southeast China, CiADS and HIAF"
