Description

Steady-State Microbunching(SSMB) light source is a highly potential new type of light source, which combines the advantages of synchrotron radiation and FEL. It possesses the characteristic of both high repeat frequency and high peak power, which means that we need to generate electron beams with high repeat frequency and high brightness. In fact, in the Accelerator Lab of Tsinghua University, we are trying to design a 20ns, 0.7A burst mode injector to produce such electron beam. As you can see, such a high-current electron beam will generate a significant wakefield, which will affect the quality of the electron beam. So there is a need for us study the wakefield effect in the injector.
