Description
The SIRIUS storage ring nonlinear lattice comprises 15 chromatic and 6 achromatic sextupole families. The sextupole strengths currently implemented were determined through online optimization of injection efficiency and deviate by up to 10% from the nominal design values, leaving no accurate nonlinear-lattice model available. This work presents ongoing efforts to calibrate the nonlinear lattice and to use the resulting models to guide online iterative symmetrization and correction of the storage ring’s nonlinear optics. The nonlinear optics from off-energy orbits (NOECO) method and its shortcomings for SIRIUS case are discussed.
