Description

A new RF station has been built to provide power to the RFQ test stand (RFQTS) in support of the LANSCE Accelerator Modernization Project (LAMP). This station will provide dedicated RF power to the RFQTS during conditioning and beam development of both H- and H+ species. Controls and interlocks particular to this system will be discussed, including the resonance control and data collection that have been integrated into the RF station. A new high voltage power supply was required to increase both the peak and average power that could be delivered, and a circulator has been high power tested and characterized to optimize its bias current. Finally, additional adjustments to the RFQ have been performed to ensure sufficient beam acceleration.

Funding Agency

Work was performed under the auspices of the US Department of Energy by Triad National Security, LLC, under contract 89233218CNA000001.
