Description
Stripline kickers are widely used tools in the particle accelerator community. In this paper, we present the design of a fast stripline kicker intended to operate at 1.28 MHz to enable pseudo–single-bunch mode operation in SPEAR3. The combination of the required kick strength and the high repetition rate introduces significant challenges related to beam-induced heating of the kicker structure. Both the physics design and the mechanical design were carefully optimized to mitigate these effects. The resulting design approach and key performance considerations will be discussed.
