Description
The China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS) is a high-power proton accelerator complex that produces intense pulsed neutron beams for advanced research in materials and related fields. The CSNS RCS is equipped with an Ionization Profile Monitor (IPM) for online monitoring of the beam's transverse profile. Following the CSNS upgrade, the beam intensity in the RCS will increase to 40 mA, making the influence of the beam's space-charge field on the measurement results particularly pronounced. IPM simulation software was employed to model the IPM performance during the RCS painting injection phase. This study investigates the deviation between IPM measurement results and true beam profiles under various beam conditions, providing quantitative deviation assessments for both ion and electron collection modes.
