Description

The ESRF booster will be upgraded by replacing 18 quadrupoles with new magnets with different length, powered by the same ramped power supply. The new lattice has a smaller equilibrium emittance and a shorter bunch length.
The effect of the multipole components in the quadrupoles in the new lattice has been studied. When the booster is operated off-energy, the effect of the multipole errors is larger, also for the present lattice. The simulations and dynamic aperture measurements on-energy and off-energy, in presence of multipole errors, are shown in this paper. The studies on the effect of the eddy currents in the vacuum chamber of the booster, for different thickness, are also shown.
