Description
Optics correction has been essential to the performance of the China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS) since its beam commissioning in 2017. This work comprehensively reviews the beam tuning, optics measurements, and lattice model corrections carried out over the years. We summarize the evolution of methodologies, key challenges in different phases, and the application of techniques including response matrix analysis, orbit correction, dispersion matching, and beta-function measurements. The resulting enhancements in beam stability and transmission efficiency underscore the success of these correction strategies. Beyond documenting CSNS's journey, this review offers insights for future high-power proton accelerator projects.
