Description
To achieve a wider frequency tuning range, higher-order harmonics of the superradiant THz FEL could be utilized. Although the radiation pattern of undulator harmonics was theoretically established years ago, the intensity distribution of these harmonics in a superradiant FEL—which involves complex bunch-train dynamics and FEL emission processes—remains poorly understood. Here, we perform simulations using the FEL code PUFFIN to study the harmonic radiation and analyze its focusing quality.
