Description

The Electron-Ion Collider (EIC), to be constructed based off the existing RHIC facility, will collide electrons with multiple species of hadrons. The Hadron Storage Ring (HSR), based largely on the Yellow RHIC ring, will accommodate three times the number of bunches compared to RHIC. A new HSR injection system will be developed to meet these requirements. This report presents the design of the HSR injection system, including the warm transfer lines, the septum design, the injection lattice optimized to reduce the required kicker strength, and the design and testing of the injection stripline kicker.
