Description
The microtron-based THz FEL system, operated for more or less two decades at KAERI, was moved installed at and is under commissioning to optimize the beam alignment. In addition to beam alignment for THz FEL, we plan to build the 2nd beamline for other applications. Hence, the emittance measurement is important to design a compact beamline to adjust and minimize the electron beam size to the sample. Due to large dispersion due to the microtron magnet and limited space, we proposed to measure the beam profiles in, at least, two locations, having different dispersion values, for quadrupole scan method. Due to short distance between the quadrupole and the OTR (optical transition radiation) screen, the thick lens approach will be applied. The simulation is also conveyed to verify the experimental results.
