Description

Steady-State Micro-Bunching (SSMB) was proposed by Ratner and Chao in 2010 to generate high-power short wavelength coherent radiation in an electron storage ring. As a new accelerator concept, SSMB has the potential to achieve very high average power (to 1 kW) EUV light source, by maintaining microbunching in storage rings. In this paper, we give the lattice design for the SSMB based storage ring, with the average EUV radiation power to 350 W. In this design, the nonlinear dynamics and IBS effects are optimized, with all the parameters self-consistent for the first time. The DA and MA are given, and proved that the continuous laser modulation in storage rings can be fine controlled by careful design.
