Description
We present the development of electronics for precise time and frequency measurements using White Rabbit (WR) technology. Our system enables the recovery of clock signals and time scale signals from a WR connection, allowing for precise timing and exquisite synchronous sampling on a daughter board. The technology is primarily designed for applications such as radio astronomy and particle physics but is versatile enough for any distributed instrumentation, including those connected through optical fiber networks. We will focus on the synchronization performances and long term stability of the system. The IDROGEN system represents a technological breakthrough that allows picosecond residual jitter of phase noise integrated over [1Hz,10MHz]. It allows for generation of arbitrary frequencies between 80KHz and 1.3GHz, without the use of complex electro-optics conversion systems involving drift compensation systems. The performance could be maintained on long distances, and tested over further Km. Recent results obtained at the SuperKEKB and KEK ATF are exposed, as accelerator application.
