Description
We present brief analysis of physics in superradiant THz free electron lasers(FEL) driven by electron microbunch trains. It is found that the saturated pulse energy increases drastically with increasing initial bunching factor due to a more efficient interaction between radiation and electron beam compared to SASE FELs. Furthermore, we analyze the effect of short bunch length and undulator tapering on the saturation of THz superradiant FELs.
