Description

A laser-based diagnostic system for measuring H‒ beam distributions along five phase space dimensions is being developed at the Los Alamos Neutron Science Center (LANSCE). An initial prototype in the LANSCE accelerator front-end has been used to measure the transverse spatial profile of the H‒ beam at 750 keV. This paper outlines the system design, discusses constraints and sensitivities, and presents the first results of the measurement.
