Description

Collimators are significant impedance sources in ring colliders, which will excite prominent wakefields, especially transverse dipolar wakefields, which are mainly responsible for the transverse mode coupling instabilities(TMCI).In this work, we calculate the longitudinal and transverse wakefields of the STCF collimators with preliminary geometric models mainly using ECHO3D.The CST particle studio is also employed for cross-check, and vary the size of mesh to ensure its numerical convergence, which all represent good aggrement between the simulations. Our results shows that the impedances caused by collimators in STCF are substantial and they are imperative to be mitigated by optimiazing the revelant design.
