Description

The thermal emittance of photocathodes represents the lower limit of electron beam emittance in photoinjectors. Reducing photocathode thermal emittance has consistently been a focal point of research efforts. At SARI, we have developed an offline measurement system for photocathode thermal emittance based on the free expansion method, enabling simultaneous measurements of thermal emittance distribution and quantum efficiency distribution in corresponding spatial coordinates. Based on this system, we have conducted analyses of photocathode performance and investigations into annealing processes.
