Description

We recently showed that a new cell-controller prototype, together with the existing NSLS-II power supply, can reach a unity-gain bandwidth of about 1.3 kHz in a single-corrector test. Building on this result, we performed a two-cell fast orbit feedback study to evaluate multi-input multi-output performance using upgraded fast correctors and BPM global communication. A newly developed regulator was installed on two cells in the existing ring, and BPMs in both cells were upgraded to operate at 31.5 kHz. Feedback tests in both planes demonstrated kHz-level bandwidth, with the horizontal loop reaching about 1.3 kHz and the vertical loop reaching about 1 kHz. These results show that the upgraded correctors and global communication can support kHz-level multi-cell feedback, representing an important step toward the next-generation FOFB system for NSLS-IIU.
