Description
Design of the stripline injection kicker for the EIC Hadron Storage Ring (HSR), operating at a beam rigidity of approximately 81 Tm, presents significant challenges due to the expected shorter bunch spacing and increased peak beam current compared to the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider. While the initial HSR injection kicker design was already mature and under testing, recent updates to the injection lattice imposed strict longitudinal space constraints requiring accommodation of 20 kickers and the bellows between every two kickers. To meet this requirement, the design was modified by placing two kicker modules adjacent to each other and eliminating the bellows joints between them. This paper presents the updated kicker geometry, including CST simulation results supporting the modified design.
