Description

The possibility of the experimental discovery of Light Dark Matter (LDM) candidates at Brookhaven National Laboratory's Electron-Ion Collider (EIC) is discussed. The production and detection of LDM particles is possible with the beam dumps of the storage rings (Hadron Storage Ring, Electron Storage Ring), and the Alternating Gradient Synchrotron (AGS) via the Z-Line target or the historic muon g-2 beamline. The theory, and the feasibility of each experiment (110 GeV gold ions, 28 GeV protons, and 10 GeV electrons): figure of merit, experimental facility, comparison to other existing experiments (Jefferson Lab, CERN, Fermilab, and SLAC), and technical requirements are discussed.
