Description

The accelerator beam has orbit drift and jitter due to various factors. The advantage of SVD analysis is that it can identify the time and approximate location of orbit fluctuations in a single analysis, and can calculate the magnitude of the impact on the orbit as a singular value. By addressing the sources corresponding to the largest singular values first, the diagnostic process becomes more efficient. Another advantage is that SVD is far simpler compared to modern machine-learning approaches. In this work, we report the results of SVD analysis and cause identification utilizing orbit data from the BPM system in the KEKB Linac.
