Description

The High Energy Photon Source(HEPS) is China's first and world-leading fourth-generation high performance synchrotron radiation light source. To meet beam commissioning requirements and better monitor the beam status of HEPS, a beam loss measurement(BLM) system based on scintillator detectors has been designed and installed. This paper conducted a qualitative analysis of the BLM system integrated with other systems in first turn commissioning, validation of closed orbit correction, and assisting in the investigation of abnormal vacuum outgassing. Additionally,Two distinct methods were employed for the quantitative analysis of beam loss data using neural networks: one integrating the BLM system with the beam current measurement system, which achieved an accuracy close to 90%, and the other combining it with Geant4 simulations. These approaches assist in beam loss diagnosis, help optimize factors contributing to beam loss, reduce potential damage to superconducting cavities and sensitive components, and ensure the stable operation of the machine.
