Description

This article introduces a simple method for obtaining low secondary electron yield carbon films. Based on the principle of thermal evaporation coating, a current is passed through a filament to heat it up, causing carbon atoms to evaporate from the filament itself and deposit onto the inner wall of a tube. Carbon nanotubes serve both as the evaporation source and the evaporation material; by electrically heating the carbon nanotubes, carbon atoms are evaporated from them. Due to their excellent mechanical properties, carbon nanotubes do not break even at high temperatures, making this method feasible.
