Description
In recent years, light source scientists have embraced the advantages of solid-state power amplifiers (SSPAs), such as high reliability, built-in redundancy, high efficiency, and the elimination of high-voltage requirements. Many facilities, including NSRRC, are planning to adopt SSPAs-based RF sources to replace traditional vacuum tube equipment. To simplify module integration for achieving high power, a 16-kW, 21-port cavity combiner prototype was fabricated for study last year. After resolving several issues, such as assembly misalignment, structural gaps, and component contact improvements, the average S21 from the output port to one input port improved to -13.07 dB from -13.82 dB. Also, a 16-kW power test was conducted to verify the combination efficiency.
