Description

In this paper, we present the design and initial magnetic measurements of the magnet arrays of the proposed prototype asymmetric magnet pole undulator. The asymmetric magnet pole undulator has 25 mm period length for the upper magnet array and 50 mm period length for the lower magnet array. The prototype undulator employs an alternate tunable end-termination scheme. The lower array employs a vertically magnetized end half magnet with a provision of 3.125 mm longitudinal movement. The upper magnet array follows an end termination scheme with a vertically magnetized end half magnet with a scope of vertical movement. The device produces 2320 Gauss at a gap of 23.5 mm gap. The undulator axis is located 8 mm away from the upper magnet array and 15.5 mm away from the lower magnet array.
