Description
A new electron injector complex is required to support the CEBAF upgrade projects, including CEBAF energy upgrade and CEBAF positrons initiatives. The existing tunnel spacing is insufficient to accommodate the additional injector components needed to deliver the required electron beam parameters for both upgrades. Therefore, a separate electron injector complex has been designed using the Low Energy Recirculating Facility (LERF) beamline enclosure. The baseline design features a main linac, two straight sections, and six isochronous arcs allowing electron beam acceleration up to 650 MeV. Magnetic element imperfections introduce orbit distortions, making orbit correction a critical part of the design study. To mitigate these errors, beam position monitors (BPMs) and corrector kickers are included in the baseline lattice layout. This paper provides an overview of the orbit correction strategy developed for the baseline injector beamline design.
