Description
Following the FCC Feasibility Study completion, the impedance model for the FCC-ee High-Energy Booster (HEB) has been significantly expanded beyond the initial copper vacuum pipe resistive wall analysis. This paper presents a comprehensive impedance budget incorporating RF cavities, bellows and beam position monitors، evaluated through 3D electromagnetic simulations and analytical methods.
The expanded model reveals additional impedance contributions affecting both transverse coupled-bunch and single-bunch dynamics at the 20 GeV injection energy. With the updated budget, transverse coupled-bunch instability growth times are reassessed, refining feedback system requirements. Single-bunch stability margins are re-evaluated considering geometric impedance contributions from newly modeled components. These updates ensure robust operational margins for the HEB while maintaining the required beam quality for injection into the main collider rings.
