Laser-plasma acceleration is a technique for producing ultra-relativistic electrons that takes advantage of the ability of plasma to carry arbitrarily intense fields. The European Eupraxia project has recently been included in the ESFRI roadmap. EuPRAXIA is a world-wide first, new kind of compact facility and will be constructed at two European sites.
