Description
The Accelerator Operations and Technology Instrumentation and Controls (AOT-IC) group has made the decision to adopt the EPICS Archiver Appliance as its primary archiver system. The ability to archive millions of PVs has been a topic of interest at Los Alamos Neutron Science Center (LANSCE) as the demand for large data sets and machine learning workflows increases. The open-source nature of the archiver appliance, the user-friendly web interface, and the proven ability to archive hundreds of thousands of process variables were decisive factors in this choice. This work presents experiences and lessons learned when implementing the EPICS Archiver Appliance at LANSCE.
