Description
The design of modern accelerators requires a detailed analysis of charged-particle beam dynamics, taking into account nonlinear effects that may limit the achievable facility parameters. Accountability of the self-fields of high-brightness beams in a linear accelerator (injector) for a free-electron laser is particularly important, since these fields largely determine the final emittance, energy spectrum, and size of the accelerated bunches. In this paper based on numerical calculations and using the Bane approach, the Green’s function for a periodic section of the SYLA linear accelerator-injector is obtained in semi-analytic way. This function will subsequently be used for beam dynamics calculations.
