Invited Talk (Invitation Only) MC2.A02: Electron linac projects Invited Talks

Speaker

Vaishali Naik (Department of Atomic Energy)

Description

VECC, Kolkata, is developing a 50 MeV, 100 kW superconducting electron linac to produce bremsstrahlung gamma rays that will subsequently be used for generating neutron-rich RIBs. The injector comprises a 250 keV electron gun and a pre-buncher. The low energy beam transport line between the gun and the injector includes diagnostic elements for measuring bunch length and beam emittance. The superconducting linac uses 1.3 GHz, 9-cell elliptical cavities. In this talk, the speaker will present recent progress and future plans.
