Description

The contribution shall be on simulation of space charge compensation within a H- - LEBT beam. Special emphasis is put on revealing the relevance secondary electrons w.r.t. the relevance of secondary ions, both created in collisions of beam ions with hydrogen molecules of the residual gas. The build-up of space charge compensation is calculated time-wise as well as its 3d-distribution. Two cases are considered: omitting the secondary electrons and taking them into account.
