Description

The ALS-U Booster Bend Power Supply is a critical component of the Advanced Light Source Upgrade (ALS-U) project at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL). This project aims to enhance beam energy from 1.9 GeV to 2.0 GeV, requiring the replacement of the existing booster bend power supply, which is nearing its end of life and cannot meet the upgraded current requirements. The new power supply is designed to deliver high precision and efficiency, incorporating advanced diagnostics and energy recovery systems. Its architecture ensures reliable operation in a very constrained space. This paper focuses on the commissioning of this new system, detailing its design, installation, integration and electrical testing at LBNL premises.
