Description
For more than 40 years synchrotron-based x-ray sources as well as free-electron lasers based on linear accelerators have been widely used in materials science, spectroscopy, crystallography, research of fast processes, medicine, molecular biology and biochemistry, medicine, and other applied and scientific tasks. Two 4th generation synchrotron light sources will be in Russia soon. One of it is 3 GeV SKIF in Koltsovo and and the another one is 6 GeV SYLA in Protvino (Synchrotron Radiation Source with X-ray Free-Electron Laser, SYnchrotron – LAser complex). The current activities on the SYLA project will be presented, mainly on the results of the fast orbit correction.
